Hungarian Frontier Sabre – 16th Century

With its gently curved blade and open knuckle guard, this Hungarian frontier sabre evokes the weapons carried by soldiers defending Hungary’s border fortresses in the 16th century. During the wars against the Ottoman Empire, the sabre became one of the defining weapons of the Hungarian hussars.
